The Wild Adventure

The forest livens up
With cries of panic.
Birds resting on the trees,
explode into the skies, At once
and a mad rush follows.
To indicate his arrival.

Baboons take it high, atop the trees
As if to broadcast the message
Anxious deers search all corners
The mammoths stand where they are
While rabbits hurry into the burrows

A sudden moment of silence occurs
Even the brook hesitates to muse
A hundred eyes, a hundred hearts
Enquiring the same
“Who’s next?”

And He emerges from his shady hideout.
Dead leaves crackle to his masterful walk.
With a loud roar he graces his kingdom
Silence falls prey to the fearsome screems
And the curtains unfold....
