Still Moments

The sun peeped through the horizon
This morning
And like a dreamy night
My bachelorhood waved me a good bye
A new life stood knocking my door
And brought for me
A new world, a new light
A new rainbow spread across the vibrant sky

A day when the essence of living
I knew
Her gleeful smile tore
My blanket of childish disguise
Amidst the showers of blessings
And teasers from friends
I held her hand
While, contentment twinkled in her parents eyes

Her eyes, disclosed untold secrets
With tears of hope
For a better future with me,
Her pride in being called my wife.
As a friend, as a brother or
Just as a part in someone’s world,
I was until now
But never was I someone’s life

A still moment, so memorable
When our heartbeats stopped…
She put the ring into my finger
And crowned me the prince of her heart
Our unspoken lips made a promise
That from now, and forever,
Come what may
We shall never be apart.
